Laut Scorza ist die Familie als Chiavari bekannt, wo er seit etwa 1100 lebte; seine Mitglieder besetzten ehrenvolle Ämter in Genua (genuesische Adelsfamilien); Guasco di Bisio zählt die A. zu den Familien, die im XII Jahrhundert. Unter den Marquisen von Vasto bildeten sie die Adelsgemeinde Albenga, die damals dem Repräsentanten von Genua unterstellt war, und damit die Crollalanza, die ihnen jedoch fälschlicherweise die Herrschaft von Giaglione zuschrieb, weil es sich um eine weitere A.-Familie handelt, die unter der Herrschaft der Grafen von Savoyen teilnahm in der ersten Hälfte des Jahres 1100 zur Verfassung der Signorile Municipality of Susa; es hatte mehrere Lehen im Homonym-Tal und änderte dann seinen Namen von A. in Rom (Diz.
