Antica ed illustre famiglia sarda, detta Atzedi o Atzeni, con residenza nella città di Cagliari, nel quartiere di Stampace. Nel 1515, Giovanni, ottenne da Ferdinando II di venire assimilato agli iberici di Castello e di poter accedere alle cariche pubbliche; ma, tal concessione, fu poi annullata da Carlo V, dietro protesta dei Consiglieri Civici di Castello. Tuttavia, i membri della famiglia, continuarono a distinguersi, per le alte cariche a cui accederono: nel 1555, altro Giovanni, era ufficiale del Santo Ufficio; Sebastiano era Rettore della Chiesa Parrocchiale di Sant'Anna in Selegas, nell'anno 1588; Francesco, dottore in "utroque jure", fu avvocato dello Stamento Militare, sia al Parlamento Aytona, nel 1593, che, nel 1614, al Parlamento de Gandia; Agostino, fu Consigliere Civico a Cagliari, nel 1679 in 5ª, e nel 1692 in 3ª.
