Très ancienne famille trévisane d'origine allemande, qui selon la tradition dérive de la lignée ducale saxonne, de la même origine que les seigneurs Tempesta de Noale et Brusaporco seigneurs du même château. En fief depuis l'an 1389 des fiefs du Comité de Trévise à Noale, Trebaseleghe, Zuminiana, Mazzacavallo et Stigliano, il a été confirmé par l'investiture vénitienne le 4 mai de l'année 1764, avec laquelle le titre de comte a également été confirmé. Une branche était attribuée au patriciat vénitien. Il a appartenu au conseil noble de Trévise jusqu'en 1388. De nombreux membres de cette illustre famille se sont distingués dans des fonctions civiles et militaires.
