Da Oberto (1142-1157), il quale sposò Teodosia di Edoardo Romagnano, trae origine questa illustre casata. Suo figlio Martino già si intitola signore di Agliè e di Rivardo. Manfredo (dec. 1569), di Lodovico, è qualificato conte. Il figlio primogenito di costui, Niccolò, fu maggiordomo, governatore delle terre del marchesato di Saluzzo, governatore di Chivasso (1599) e il 18 marzo 1608 ebbe il gran Collare del Supremo Ordine della SS. Annunziata. Sposò costui Antonia Provana di Bussolino, sorella del Gran Cancelliere e da queste nozze nacquero, fra gli altri, Giulio Cesare, Lodovico e Michelangelo. Lodovico detto il marchese di Agliè fu aio del duca Carlo Emanuele II, e fu insigne del Collare della SS. Annunziata. Unitamente al fratello Giulio Cesare fu infeudato il 25 luglio 1633 di San Damiano col titolo marchionale. Michelangelo (dec. 1655), fu cappuccino, lettore generale a Milano, Bologna e Roma e nella peste del 1630 fu veramente
