Baldachini è Casato in questa Città ricco, nobile, e antico; alcuni dicono, che anticamente sono venuti da Baldaccha Città nobilissima della Giudea, e altri di Sammaria; furono già anticamente Signori di Castelli; cioè di Gherardo, e certi corsi di muraglia in detto luogo, e di Modena, e Villa di Cortona, de' quali luoghi se ne tengono memorie in certe scritture di M. Antonio Bernardino di M. filippo I.V.D. B., ecc. Iacopo Lauro Romano nella sua Istoria stampata in Roma alla 2. parte asserisce che i B. discendino da' Signori di Castel Gherardo, e più anticamente da Baldacca Città della Sammaria, di dove vennero ad abitare a Perugia;e si trova, che fino del 1325. erano Cittadini Perugini, e dipoi vennero ad abitare
