Lo storico degli Stati Estensi, F. Pasini-Frassoni, afferma che la famiglia Baldassari è antichissima, ed originaria di Ferrara poiché Bartolomeo Baldassari, fu tra i cittadini ferraresi che nel 1310 prestarono giuramento alla Santa Sede. I Testi storici ed araldici che contengono citazioni su questa Casata ne mettono in luce la nobiltà goduta da alcuni suoi cospicui rami. Un ramo dei Baldassari si propagò nel Nord-Italia;i Baldassari furono, infatti, Nobili e Baroni del Trentino. Nel 1657 il Principe-Vescovo di Trento confermò al Dott. Baldassare Baldassari, l'avita sua Nobiltà. Un ramo dei Baldassari, fiorito in Ancona, fa capo a Mattia il cui figlio Raffaele nacque nel 1824, e da sua moglie Eleonora Patrignani ebbe diversi figli, fra i quali Emilio, nato in Ancona il 10 Novembre 1857, sposato con Assunta Barducci.
