Antichissima famiglia, ramo dell'antica casata perugina detta "di Porta S. Pietro", dalla quale uscirono molti uomini distinti nel giure e fra questi: Gentile, Sigismondo e Angelo; Matteo fu uditore di rota e poi vescovo; Niccolò fu cardinale; Girolamo capitano sotto Carlo IX di Francia; Aurelio lo fu sotto il duca Valentino. In questa famiglia si estinse nel 1680 con Pompeo, la famiglia che ebbe notevole importanza in Perugia con il conte Simone (1285). Mariotto ebbe il comando del contado di Perugia nel 1509; Giuseppe fu primario lettor di leggi in patria; Marcantonio di Muzio fu avvocato concistoriale sotto Alessandro VII; Pompeo fu cavaliere di S. Stefano e castellano della fortezza di Ascoli. Altro ramo. Tal famiglia discende dagli antichi Ubaldi e Baldi, divenuti poi Baldeschi.
