Antica ed assai nobile famiglia del Regno di Sicilia, con prima residenza nella città di Siracusa, conosciuta come Baldo, Baldi o Baldes, di chiara ed avita virtù, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Questa casata, in ogni epoca, si è sempre distinta grazie ai pregevolissimi personaggi a cui ha dato i natali. Nel 1447 fiorì in Siracusa il nobile Everardo, del fu Giovanni, il quale ricoprì la carica di Giurato. Al tempo di re Martino incontriamo, tra i feudatari del Regno, un Balduccio ed un Guido: il primo fu possessore del feudo di Belludia, il secondo di quello di Maegi. Non si dimentichino poi Giovanni e Ferdinando, entrambi Giurati, il primo negli anni 1463-64, 1468-69 ed il secondo nel 1479-80.
