Antica ed assai nobile prosapia spagnola, di chiara ed avita virtù, conosciuta come Balle, Batlle o Batle, originaria della Catalogna, propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, nelle Isole Baleari ed in Portogallo. Secondo quanto viene riportato da illustri araldisti, la casata si stabilì in Maiorca cinque anni dopo la conquista aragonese dell'isola, che portò alla cacciata dei Mori. Pedro Balle, primo esponente di cui abbiamo novella storica, nel 1234, figurava quale signore di Alaczarack, nella zona montuosa. Arnaldo Balle, dottore in l'una e l'altra legge, firmò nel 1270, in qualità di testimone, le franchigie stabilite da re Giacomo II per i maiorchini. Lo stesso Arnaldo, nel 1280, appare quale consigliere del detto monarca. Berenguer Balle fu invece Vescovo di Maiorca dal 1332 al 1349. Il ramo del casato rimasto nel continente ebbe principale residenza in Flaçà e fu confermato nella sua avita nobiltà con real privilegio del 1677. Esso, inoltre, contrasse
