Claude, receveur de la douane et finances du Teil, fit enregistrer ses armes en 1696, D'après une tradition, cette famille viendrait du Dauphiné où elle avait été importante et fortunée. Elle s'etablit au Teil en Vivarais où elle donna des propriétaires et des industriels. Le nom de cette famille figure comme signataire d'un vœu fait à Saint-Roch par la commune du teil, en compagnie des notables du pays, tels que les Pavin de Lafarge, les d'Hilaire de Joviac, etc. Les personnages de cette famille furent très honorablement connus au Teil. Ils sont encore représentés à Viviers et en Afrique (Oran).
