Antica famiglia austriaca, passata primieramente in Veneto e propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia. Ferdinando II, re dei Romani, con diploma 4 novembre 1633, concesse al rev. Nicolò B., al fratello Pietro ed ai discendenti di questo d'ambo i sessi, il titolo di nobile del S.R.I. col predicato di Prun e l'uso di un particolare stemma. Conferì loro anche la dignità di conti palatini, nominando Nicolò suo aulico consigliere, prelato Canon. di Passau e suo confessore. Nella guerra detta "dei contadini", noto episodio della guerra dei trent'anni (1618-1648), si distinsero, infatti, i predetti Nicolò e Pietro B., il primo parroco di Wendling, di Taufkirchen indi di Kaheim, tanto da chiamare, come abbiamo sopra riportato, l'attenzione dell'imperatore Ferdinando II. I pronipoti di Pietro, concessionario del titolo, fino dal principio del secolo XVIII, trasportarono il loro domicilio in parti diverse e ciò influì a far subire nei diversi rami

Inquartato: al primo e quarto d'azzurro al camoscio saliente sul versante destro di una montagna rocciosa, al naturale; al secondo e terzo trinciato d'oro e di nero, il primo ad una mezza scala di nero con quattro pioli a destra, posta in banda. Cimiero: il camoscio tenente in bocca ed in banda la mezza scala del campo, nascente, posto fra due proboscidi addossate e guernite all'infuori ciascuna di cinque penne di pavone, infisse in fascia, ambedue troncate, quella a destra d'azzurro e d'argento e l'altra d'oro e di nero.
