Las primeras noticias se remontan a finales de siglo. XV con Antoniotto Agliaudi, considerado el progenitor de la familia. En Turín, pronto ingresaron al cuerpo decurional con Carlantonio, cuyo hijo Giandomenico y cuyo nieto Giambattista tuvieron éxito en la oficina de la ciudad. Este último se casa con Francesca di Matteo Baroni, hermana del conde de Tavigliano, de ahí que el apellido doble y el título comital se hayan consolidado con Ignazio Agliardi Baroni, nieto del conde Giampietro Baroni, conde de Tavigliano.
