Dalle memorie consultate sui Barozzi di Venezia, si vedono partecipi della quarta crociata (1204), che si esaurì colla fondazione dell'Impero latino d'Oriente, feudatari nell'Egeo delle isole di Santorino e Thirasia (1207), correi nella congiura di Baiamonte Tiepolo per abbattere il dogato; sui Barozzi di Vercelli, invece, si vedono baroni di Lessona (1629), su quelli di Novara al governo della quale assolsero nei sec. XII - XIV importanti magistrature, nonché sui Barozzi di Modena, Tortona, Alessandria non ci fu dato imbastire un qualche legame di consanguineità che la comunanza di figure araldiche in parecchi dei loro stemmi lascia presumere o quanto meno intuire, come altrettanti simboli, di un'origine comune piuttosto remota. Il Diz. Feud. infatti segnala la loro presenza in Castelnuovo Scr. sin dall'XI secolo, luogo di cui condividevano con i Bandello, i Grassi, i Torti, i Lazzatra la signoria; un Barozzi, non meglio identificato, è teste in atto del 24
