Nom de famille portugais, avec beaucoup dans la lignée du Portugal et de la Galice. Il est allé en Espagne et avait des maisons en Galice, Santander et Ségovie. Des branches très importantes sont sorties de la maison en Galice, qui avait un siège dans la province de Pontevedra. L'un s'est installé dans la ville de Túy, et c'était Juan de B., originaire de Túy et seigneur des Tortores, qui avait Juan de B., commandant en second, de son épouse Doña Inés de Vega, originaire de Valladolid. baptisé à Túy en 1525.
