Pare che sia passata da Genova in Messina. Un Giuseppe fu senatore di Messina nel 1758, governatore nobile della tavola pecuniaria di detta città nel 1760-61 e fu annotato nel ruolo dei donativi del 1766 con il titolo di marchese, annotazione che non sappiamo quale valore potesse avere senza l'appoggio di altri documenti di maggior valore probatorio del diritto a portare il titolo. Nell'Elenco ufficiale nobiliare é iscritto con il titolo di marchese il signor Giovan Ambrogio e Lo Mundo, di Salvatore, di Giovanni. Poche sono le città, che vantino famiglie nobili si antiche come quelle in Genova, poichè malgrado le vicende dei tempi essa conta ancora nel suo seno molte famiglie che provano la loro genealogia da padre in figlio mercè gli atti notarili dalla metà del XII secolo fino a' giorni nostri, vale a dire da un'epoca che serva di barriera a quasi tutte le famiglie d'Europa.
