Antica ed assai nobile famiglia dal Piemonte in Milano la quale comparisce con molto splendore fra la nobiltà piemontese, gli antenati della quale venuti già molti secoli prima in Piemonte, hanno con la loro riputatione apprestata ha discendenti loro onorata strada, trà le maggiori dignità della patria. Derivanti da Omegna. In origine chiamavansi do Vemenia: assunsero per eredità il nome di Bazzetta, famiglia che aveva dato decurioni a Novara. Vantavano celebri giureconsulti; un senatore, un professore a Pavia, notai e canonici ordinari del Duomo, e si estinsero nella prima metà di questo secolo, lasciando eredi del nome e del patrimonio i loro congiunti Conti Bertoglio.
