Família antiga e ilustre, originária da Itália Central, que, no início do século XVI, dividia-se em três ramos distintos: um estabelecido na área de Lucca - Sarzana, outro na área de Bolonha - Modena e, finalmente, um na área dos castelos de Ancona (Ostra). A família, no entanto, originalmente não possuía a cognominização atual, assumida, apenas, em fases alternativas, a partir do final do século XVII. O sobrenome Bedini, de fato, foi assumido a partir dos descendentes de Bernardino Guidi, de forma patronômica, através da contração de seu nome, que é Be (rnar) dino. A família, portanto, anteriormente, foi identificada como Guidi, ou Guidini, e seu progenitor, portanto, pode ser identificado naquele Pandolfo Guidi, cidadão de Montenovo, que se mudou para Corinaldo e depois para Ostra, onde morreu, em 1560. A filial da Toscana, cujo brasão é relatado nos volumes do "Historical - Blazon Dictionary", do comendador GB de Crollalanza,
