Il primo di lei fù Guglielmo gentilhuomo Catalano, il quale si mantenne in Sicilia con molta autorità, e ricchezze. Questo feudo fù concesso dal Rè Giacomo a Maestro Giovanni di Notar Rainero medico nel 1292. al quale successe Saracena sua figlia, ed a costei Bartolomea moglie di Nicolò Spadafora sua figlia, la quale lo lasciò a suo figlio Giovanni nel 1453. che per non haver figliuoli di legitimo matrimonio, legitimò a Giovanni suo figlio naturale, che l'havea havuto d'una donna chiamata Marina, e lo lasciò suo herede, nondimeno il predetto Giovanni sene investì nel 1456. e litigò con Roggiero, e Pietro Spadafora suoi parenti, riportandone al fine la vittoria. A costui successe Rinaldo suo figlio nel 1484. che morì senza prole, e gli seguì Bartolomea sua sorella moglie del predetto
