Haute chevalerie du Velay, citée avec Arbertz frère hospitalier de St-Jean de Jérusalem du Puy, témoin d'une vente en date du 28 mars 1185. Plusieurs chevaliers croisés. Pons, neuvième abbé de la Chaise-Dieu (1158-1169), assista en 1163 au oncile de Tours. Il obtint pour lui et ses successeurs, de Pierre IV, évêque du Puy, un privilège d'autant plus précieux qu'il était alors plus rarement concédé, un canonicat dans sa cathédrale; reçut en 1165 le pape Alexandre III à La Chaise-Dieu et mourut au cours d'un voyage en Palestine (1169). Guillaume baron de Beaudiner, Montregard, la Chapelle-en-Velay, seigneurie de Cornillon-en-Forez (1240), épousa Beatrix de Jarez. Adémard ou Aymard seigneur de Beaudiner et Guillaumet son fils allié à Odette du Peloux, rendirent hommage en 1267 à l'évêque du Puy, du château de Beaudiner et vendirent en 1271 celui d'Ay. Raymond, seigneur de la Chancelade près St-Pal-de-Mons, était possessionné dans le mandement de Beaujeu en 1285.
