Litta dans son ouvrage "Familles italiennes célèbres en feuille, et avec lui les auteurs d'accord, il s'agit d'une famille noble lombarde. Parmi ceux-ci, le Guasco di Bisio énumère cette famille qui s'est déplacée au cours de ces siècles à Milan en acquérant sa citoyenneté et bientôt sa renommée, de hautes fonctions de commandement et de responsabilité.
