No século XVIII passou a Portugal D. José Jorge Moura Luís Carlos Pascol Vidal, natural da cidade de Valença, no reino de Aragão, o qual foi cavaleiro da Ordema de Cristo e capitão de cavalos no regimento de Moura, reformado no posto de sargento-mor de Cavalaria. Era filho de Marcos Jorge Vidal e de sua mulher, D. Maria Manuel de Bendris, naturais da mesma cidade, do que parece deduzir-se que o apelido Bendris seria castelhano, mas o Visconde de Sanches de Baena afirma que era francês e, talvez, corrupção de Bindrais. Se esta informação é verdadeira, a família passa primeiro a Aragão. D. José Jorge Vidal recebeu-se com D. Joaquina Inácia da Gama, natural de Estremoz, filha legítima de Manuel Pires Cabeã e de S. Andresa Martins de Gouveia, de cujo matrimónio nasceu José Roberto Vidal da Gama, cavaleiro professo na Ordema de Cristo e desembargados da Casa da Suplicação, que teve marcê de Carta de brasão de armas, por sucessão, dada em 7-III-1770, com as armas de Vidal e de Bendris.
