Si vuole originaria della città di Finale; portata in Palermo da un Cristoforo, che fu in detta città governatore della Tavola nel 1634-35, rettore dell'ospedale grande 1640 e, con privilegio 29 dicembre 1666 - 4 giugno 1667, ottenne, per sé e suoi, concessione del titolo dei marchese di S. Andrea di Cannameli, titolo che, all'abolizione della feudalità era in possesso di un Cristoforo VI Benenati per l'investitura 6 febbraio 1768. Altro ramo. S'accennò nella famiglia Henrighetti il passaggio di Luca B. da Milano in Sicilia, come anche nella famiglia Morfino, non si lascirà dunque di scrivere con brevità l'antica nobiltà di questa famiglia nella Città di Milano, percioche ella si ritrova annoverata nel consiglio di 900 nobili della medesma Città di Milano fatto nel 1388, come si legge nell'historia di Milano del Morigia al foglio 689, fra' quali nella Parrochia di San Martino al corpo di dentro sono annoverati Giovannolo
