Famiglia originaria di Mantova. L'imperatore Leopoldo I con diploma 1 maggio 1659 concedeva ad Ottavio, suoi fratelli e cugini il titolo di "nobile del Sacro Romano Impero"; Livio, avvocato collegiato, con ordinazione 17 agosto 1770 della R. Deputazione Araldica di Mantova otteneva l'iscrizione della famiglia sua nel Libro Araldico col titolo di "nobile della città di Mantova" e di "nobile del Sacro Romano Impero" e la delineazione dello stemma nel Codice Araldico. I figli suoi, Carlo e Francesco con sovrana risoluzione 27 novembre 1816 vennero confermati nell'antica nobiltà. Attualmente sono ascritti nell'Elenco Ufficiale col titolo di "nobile del Sacro Romano Impero" per mf. e col trattamento di don e di donna. Altro ramo. Antica famiglia dell'Emilia Romagna con residenza nella città di Cesena. Ha origine fiorentina, ed un Domenico la trapiantò quindi in Cesena dove si estinse nel 1600. Lasciò bella fama di sè un Pietro auditore della sacra ruota
