Famiglia originaria di Pisa. Sulla fine del secolo XIII questa famiglia compare a Ripatransone con un Antonio che ne è il capostipite, e i suoi discendenti ricopersero tutte le più alte cariche del Comune e furono capitani, governatori. Due furono guardie nobili; altri ebbero alte dignità ecclesiastiche. Antonio fu podestà a Matelica (1346-1348); Zuccio capitano di 100 cavalli e 100 fanti inviato al cardinale Albarnoz nel 1331; Domenico podestà di Cingoli nel 1398; Giacomo podestà a Civitanova nel 1430 circa. Bartolomeo podestà a Civitanova. Ma chi più diè lustro alla famiglia fu Bianca che nel 1521 difese le mura di Ripatransone contro un'orsa spagnuola che l'assediava e riuscì, dopo aver ucciso l'alfiere a togliere la rossa bandiera al nemico. Lorenzo nel 1746 fondò una commenda nell'ordine di SS. Maurizio e Lazzaro come primogenitura di famiglia. La Consulta Araldica (Elenco nobiliare ufficiale delle Marche, ediz. 1908) dichiarò spettare a questa famiglia
