Alessandro, morto nel 1583, fu governatore della Garfagnana. Estinti i Naselli nel Conte Antonio, passò l'eredità ed il cognome ai Berettoni, che furono assai benemeriti della patria. A questa famiglia ha appartenuto il titolo di Conte, titolo che solevasi dagli imperatori a coloro che erano al loro fianco. Da questi Conti si sceglieva coloro che venivano destinati a soprintendere agli uffizi del regio palazzo, ed altri erano mandati al governo delle provincie dell'impero ed a gurdare i confini. Erano poi altri conti, estranei ai cennati uffizi, come quelli addetti all'annona, al commercio; ed anche i provveditori dell'esercito si ebbero quel titolo. Ai tempi dei Goti la dignità di Conte fu pur mantenuta a parecchi pubblici funzionari; ed i Longobardi ancora dissero i loro governatori conti o castaldi.

Partito; nel primo d'azzurro, al destrocherio di carnagione vestito di rosso uscente da una nuvola posta nel fianco destro, e sostenente un carello su cui posa un beretto nero da dottore, che è dei Berettoni; al secondo d'azzurro, al capriolo di rosso caricato da tre stelle d'oro, accompagnato da tre teste e busti di nero, attortigliate d'argento, vestiti di porpora diaprati d'oro, che è dei Naselli.
