Ancient and very noble family of Rifembergo, in the County of Gorizia, known as Bersa di Leidenthal or, more simply, Bersa. The clear nobility of the family is also testified by the presence, of its blazon, in the valuable work of V. Spreti, "Italian historical-noble encyclopedia". The members of the family, moreover, were recognized hereditary knights, by the Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria, with the predicate "von Leidenthal", through the IR Diploma, dated 29 August 1840, in the person of Giuseppe, with his legitimate descendants of both sexes. With the Ministerial Decree of 19 October 1926, the aforementioned title with the predicate was recognized to the two brothers, sons of Giovanni and Filomena de 'Medici: 1. Giuseppe, born Zara, 13 January 1862; 2. Brunone, born Zara 12 October 1863. Having become acquainted with the de 'Medici of Zara, the Bersa moved to said city. They were also present in Trieste,
