Bourgeoisie d'Yssingeaux, citée dès 1575 avec Pierre-Gabriel marié à Antoinette Vallantin. Branche établie à Lyon en 1613, avec Denis. Jacques devint consul d'Yssingeaux en 1626 et de son union avec Laurence Jaussand laissa: Gabriel seigneur de Vourze, du Fromental (héritier de son oncle Pierre), marié à Madeleine du Périer de Masboyer. Guillaume leur fils seigneur de Vourze, du Fromental, fut compris en 1695 parmi les possédant fiefs, tènements nobles et rentes, sur lesquels est perçue taxe pour le ban et l'arrière-ban de la sénèchaussée du Puy. Il eut de Clauda Ravaisse: 1° Gabriel du Fromental, jurisconsulte éminent, auteur d'un ouvrage de droit estimé, conseiller du roi et procureur au sénéchal et présidial du Puy (1740); 2° Etienne-Lurent du Fromental d'où postérité. Il se pourrait que ces armoiries, portées par cette famille, ne fussent autres que celles des premiers seigneurs du Fromental, connus depuis noble Bertrand vivant en 1343.
