Ancienne famille du Trentin, avec résidence dans la ville de Rovereto. Cette famille est originaire de Tierno, elle se trouve établie à Bretonico depuis 1477, puis à Rovereto, où elle fut amenée en 1500 par Alvise, médecin et notaire impérial, qui en 1517 fut attribué à ce patriciat. Guglielmo, en 1434, avait acheté le château et les dîmes de Chiozzola aux Vénitiens ; Francesco était châtelain et gouverneur de Parme en 1571 ; Bartolomeo et Alvise, son neveu, étaient capitaines en Flandre sous Alessandro Farnese ; Giulio, frère d'Alvise, maire de Novare ; Octavius secrétaire de l'empereur Rodolphe II; Paolo podestat de Casalmaggiore. Cette famille était ornée du titre baronnial. Le blason de la famille Beta est : Bleu, avec une bande violette, accompagné sur la tête de deux étoiles d'or, et à la pointe d'un soleil du même.
