Antiga família da Lombardia com residência na cidade de Bérgamo. Alguns membros da família foram condecorados com o título de conde. Ao longo dos séculos famílias homônimas dos mesmos mudaram-se para diversas regiões da Itália, de onde adquiriram a nobreza e foram acolhidos ali nos importantes ofícios da cidade onde viviam, um deles tinha como arma: Spaccato; no primeiro de ouro, para a águia de preto; no segundo interzato em palo de preto, vermelho e dourado. A essa família pertencia o título de Conde, título dado pelos imperadores aos que estavam ao seu lado. Destes condes foram escolhidos aqueles que deveriam supervisionar os escritórios do palácio real, e outros foram enviados para governar as províncias do império e guardar as fronteiras.
