Antonio, trentino, fuggendo il dominio straniero nella sua terra nativa, trasportò il suo domicilio in Genova, dove aprì una libreria sotto i portici dell'Accademia. Ivi, da lui e da Angela Molinare nacque il 1846 (25 maggio) quel Giovanni, che assurgendo ai più alti gradi nella marina militare italiana, ha portato questa famiglia nell'Elenco ufficiale nobiliare italiano, pubblicato il 1922. Entrato nella regia marina il 1863, salì per i suoi meriti di grado in grado fino a quello massimo di viceammiraglio, nel 1905. Accomunando con la perizia marinaresca e militare l'abilità politica, fu deputato al Parlamento pei collegi di Genova (1890-1900) e di Recco (1900-16), e tre volte ministro della Marina (1899, 1900; 1903, 1909-10). Il Re d'Italia gli largì (25 maggio 1911) il titolo di Conte, (mpr.). Morì il 1916 (7 aprile). Il Comune di Genova gli ha eretto un busto di bronzo sul poggio dell'Acquasola. Una monografia è stata
