Antica ed illustre famiglia di origine veneta, passata a risiedere in Tolentino nel XV secolo e propagatasi, nel corso dei secoli, in diverse regioni d'Italia, con insediamenti più cospicui nel Lazio, in Emilia-Romagna ed in Liguria. L'origine di tal cognome va ricercato nel plurale della parola "bezzi", moneta usata a Venezia, che a sua volta deriva dal nome di una moneta svizzera chiamata "batze", in tedesco diminutivo di "orso", poiché aveva inciso il disegno di un orsacchiotto. I primi registri ufficiali del casato in Tolentino rimandano ad un Andrea de Bezzo, priore nell'arte della lana nel 1463. La famiglia fu poi aggregata al patriziato di Tolentino nel 1732, in persona di Giovanni, di Giuseppe Felice. Giuseppe e Candido risultano nell’elenco, oggi conservato nell’archivio dello S.M.O.M, delle famiglie che ricoprivano l’Ufficio di Consigliere di I Grado Nobile al 22 luglio 1776. Di azzurro al monte d'oro a tre colli all'italiana, con un rosaio fiorito di un pezzo di rosso, nudrito e rivoltato sulla vetta del monte accompagnato in capo da un crescente d'oro, accostata da due stelle d'oro di sei raggi.
