Famiglia originaria da Masnago nel Varesotto; si presume dello stesso ceppo dei Bianchi di Velate. Aggiunse il cognome d'Adda per disposizione testamentaria del cavalier Giorgio d'Adda, defunto verso il 1680, che lasciò erede Giorgio coll'obbligo di assumere il cognome e le armi sue. Da questi discende Antonio (nato 1716) che fu riconosciuto nella nobiltà con decreto 9 settembre 1772 dell'I.R. Tribunale Araldico, padre di Gio. Battista, generale napoleonico ed avo di altro Antonio, che unitamente a Carlo, cav. dell'Ordine del Sole di Persia e della Legione d'Onore, ed agli altri fratelli ottenne la conferma della nobiltà con sovrana risoluzione 21 novembre 1816. Sono iscritti nell'Elenco Ufficiale col titolo di "nobile" e col trattamento di don e di donna, in persona di: Marziale, di Giorgio, di Antonio, con la sorella Angela in Barigozzi.
