Questa famiglia proviene da una delle tante ramificazioni che mossero dal ceppo dei conti di Lavagna nella riviera di Levante. I quali già nel 1128 intervennero in dodici, tutti parenti, in una loro convenzione col comune di Genova. Nella seguente convenzione del 1139 appaiono tre rami nelle persone di Robaldo, Gerardo e Pagano, e nelle altre del 1145 e 1166 si vedono già distribuiti in casati diversi, Fieschi, Scorza, Conti, Ravaschieri, Bianchi, Cardinali, Pinelli, Caneti, Della Torre, Sicchi, San Salvatore e altri. I Bianchi ebbero capostipite il conte Enrico Bianco della convenzione del 1145, figlio di Oberto di Pagano, seguitando per alcune generazioni a chiamarsi anche Fieschi, e dettero origine con un ramo laterale alla famiglia Interiano, che, dopo di aver costituito uno dei ventotto alberghi nobili in Genova, si estinsero in sei generazioni. Gli altri seguitarono a chiamarsi Bianchi o Fieschi olim Bianchi, e, nel sec. XV, lasciata Genova,
