Ele começou a fazer seu nome por volta de 1600. Giuseppe foi chanceler de sal no final do século XVII. Em seu trabalho "Famílias italianas famosas em folha, e com ele os autores de acordo, Litta é uma família nobre da Lombard. Nas primeiras décadas de 1100, após um acordo, as quatro classes nobres e as cidades milanesas dos viscondes, dos capitães, dos valvassori (subfeudatari) e dos soldados do povo, constituídos, governados por cônsules, o município signoril de Milão que, gradualmente retirando-se da jurisdição do bispo, separou claramente as duas potências eclesiástica e civil.
