Com licença de 31 de julho de 1686, o duque de Parma Ranuccio II concedeu à família e a descendentes legítimos e naturais o título de nobres com a seguinte motivação: "Nos igitur attents digno de causis animum nostrum moventibus Christoforum, Marcum Antonium, Joannem, Accursium Scottum e Paulum Antonium fratres de Biatijs e orume descendem. Distinguiram-se nas profissões liberais, em cargos públicos: Paolo Antonio di Pietro (nascido em 1670), Giuseppe, seu filho (nascido em 1731), Paolo Francesco di Giuseppe, nascido em 1768, Giovanni di Paolo ( nascido em 1807), um bom jurista e arquivista da comunidade de Parma, com cujo filho Benvenuto, nascido em 1847 e falecido em 1921 em Modena, o ramo masculino morreu.
