Originaria di Parma, la famiglia appare nei documenti locali del secolo XVI, assai distinta e ben provvista di terre nelle colline parmensi. Giovanni ed Antonio furono delegati dalla Comunità di Parma a quella di Milano (1447); Vincenzo fu Ambasciatore a Papa Paolo III e nel 1540 - 42 Podestà di Piacenza; Giov. Marco Ambasciatore del Duca Ottavio Farnese a Madrid; Orazio, Podestà di Varano Marchesi nel 1540. Un Innocenzo fu illustre giureconsulto, appartenne all'anzianato (1574), fu uditore civile a Piacenza (1566), poi consigliere di grazia e giustizia, nel 1561 fu commissario ducale per la determinazione dei confini di Brescello, nel 1565 fu delegato per la soluzione della vertenza per i confini tra Parma e il ducato di Modena; un Girolamo fu rettore della chiesa di S. Giorgio e del beneficio di S. Maria nella cattedrale parmense (1541); un Matteo fu commissario ducale di Guardasone (1553); un Bernardino appartenne al collegio
