Familia antigua originaria de Messina. Este linaje ilustre incluye personajes de grandes virtudes, pero la escasez de escrituras en esos siglos antiguos nos priva de las curiosidades más nobles que se pueden desear. Sin embargo, ha llegado la noticia de un Giuseppe, que fue senador de Messina en el año 1641-42, de un Vincenzo, gobernador de la mesa pecuniaria de dicha ciudad en los años 1768-69 y 1779-80 y cónsul del mar en el año 1787- 88 y 1790-91. En Nastra Nobile di Messina de 1798-1807, encontramos a los hermanos Carlo, Giuseppe, el sacerdote Stefano y Vincenzo, del difunto Tommaso. Felice fue un distinguido poeta del siglo XIX.
