Very ancient and noble Sicilian family from Palermo with family branches spread, over the centuries, in different regions of Italy. The first of this noble Palermo family of whom we have sure news is an Ottavio Bisso, who in the year 1579 we find among the knights of the sovereign order of Malta and who founded in Palermo, together with Marco La Cava archbishop of the same city, the venerable and noble company of Santa Maria della Consolazione under the title of Peace, of which he was first councilor in the year 1580, in the year 1581 and for another four times up to the year 1600 governor. A Francesco obtained with a privilege given on December 30, 1594 enforced on April 28, 1595, for himself and his, the granting of the title of Don, he was a deputy of the kingdom, with a privilege given on July 8, 1582
