Die alte und berühmte Benevento-Familie mit klarem und angestammtem Adel zog zur Zeit von König Karl von Anjou nach Sizilien und verzweigte sich nach Trapani, Salemi, Castelvetrano, Palermo und Messina. Diese Familie, die mit den Titeln Marquis von Camporeale und Baron von Salina geschmückt ist, wie Dokumente und notarielle Urkunden belegen, hat es im Laufe der Jahrhunderte immer geschafft, sich dank der hohen Charaktere, die sie hervorgebracht hat, hervorzuheben.
