A esta família, a oriunda da Ligúria da Riviera di Ponente, o rei da Sardenha Vittorio Emanuele II concedeu os títulos de barão (Decreto Real de 8 de agosto de 1849) e deu os títulos de barão (Decreto Real de 8 de outubro de 1852) na pessoa de Gerolamo da San Remo , Cônsul da Sardenha em Lisboa (1830-1850), que prestou serviços eminentes à dinastia Savoy no exílio voluntário em Portugal do rei Charles Albert.
