Famiglia feudale catalana un cui ramo si trasferì in Sardegna con un Bernardo che partecipò alla spedizione dell'Infante Alfonso. Nel 1324 egli fu nominato governatore di Cagliari, nel 1325 fu investito delle signorie di Assolo, Asuni e Nureci. Già governatore generale nel 1326, nel 1335 divenne inquisitore della Sardegna. Morì nel 1339 e gli successe suo figlio, un altro Bernardo. Tornati in Catalogna i Boixadors agli inizi del sec. XV si disfecero dei feudi sardi: nel 1417 vendettero Assolo ai Pontons e nel 1421 Nureci ai De Sena. Tali sono i principii, che da sopracitati Autori si diedero a questa famiglia, ma per esser questo fatto assai remoto, e d'historia molto lontana, lasciamo perciò a più eruditi delle sacre antichità, e dell'historie l'investigarne il suo certo principio. Quel che però di certo habbiamo, è che la casata per la loro antichità, e splendore, e per virtù militare, carrichi così laicali,
