Der Familienname B. mit dem von Rivadeneyra gehört zu derselben berühmten galizischen Linie, die ihr edles Solarhaus in der Provinz Lugo hatte. Von hier ging es nach Österreich, Kastilien und auf die Kanarischen Inseln. Zu Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts gab es in der Provinz Lugo das Torres-Solarhaus der großen Antike mit 1.300 Vasallen. Zu ihr gehörte ein Herr namens Rivadeneyra, der seinen Nachnamen B. setzte, mit dem er von nun an bekannt sein würde. Dies ist in den Chroniken der Könige Don Pedro I el Cruel und Don Juan II angegeben. Dieser Nachname erscheint seit der Eroberung auf den Kanarischen Inseln.
