El apellido B. con el de Rivadeneyra, pertenecen a un mismo e ilustre linaje gallego, que tuvo su noble Casa solar en la provincia de Lugo. Desde aquí pasó a Austrias, Castilla y a Canarias. A principios del siglo XVI, existió en la provincia de Lugo, la Casa solar de Torres, de mucha antigüedad, contando a la sazón con mil trescientos vasallos. A ella perteneció un caballero llamado Rivadeneyra, que antepuso al suyo el apellido B., con el que se le conocería en lo sucesivo. Así consta en las crónicas de los Reyes Don Pedro I el Cruel y Don Juan II. Este apellido figura en Canarias, desde la conquista.
