Corrado Bonafede ebbe chiarissima origine, dai Conti di San Giuliano di Francia, ed egli fu impiegato dalla Regina Giovanna di Napoli ai servigi della Regina Antonia, moglie del Re Federico terzo, con la quale dimorò mentre visse con il carico di suo Segretario. Si casò con Pietronilla, figlia di Giovanni Antonio, di Curapi, Cavaliere Messinese, con la quale procreò Antonio, e Gabriele; Questi secondo, si casò in Palermo con Luigia Virmille, figlia di Nicolò, che fu Senatore di Palermo nel 1335, che gli partorì Francesco che ebbe per moglie Ilaria Abbatelli, figlia di Federico Mastro Portolano del Regno nel 1485, e fu dopo la morte sepolto nella Cappella del Santissimo Crocifisso in San Domenico della medesima Città; ove di sopra appaiono l'arma dei Bonafede, e degli Abbatelli, dentro la quale poscia i monaci posero il corpo di Fra Vincenzo Binicontro, loro Domenicano, Vescovo d'Agrigento, secondo quel che hanno riferito i
