Noblesse vellave dont certaines branches dérogèrent et passèrent dans l'ordre de la bourgeoisie. Fulcon, chevalier de St-Jean-de-Jérusalem (1236), André, chevalier et François,vivant en 1269, sont le plus anciens membres connus de cette famille. Noble Guillaume épousa à peu près à la même époque Élisabeth Laytent. Celle-ci en étant veuve, fit donation le 14 mars 1307 à son fils André et à Bonasse sa fille de l'universalité de ses biens, sous réserve d'une somme de 200 livres tournois, pour la fondation d'une vicaire dans l'église de St-Georges. Jean et André sont cités dans diverses chartes de 1344 à 1378. Jean et autre Jean son fils, bourgeois du Puy, étaient possessionnés dans le mandement de Beaujeu et de Cayres (1383-1378). On trouve ce dernier percevant des rentes à St-Christophe et à Talode, qualifié noble dans un hommage de 1395. Noble François devint 1°consul du Puy en 1424. Jean, bailli de Mercœur (1400), est dit père d'André seigneur d'Arsac (1507); Godefroy, seigneur d'Arsac et d'Ebde en 1541. Plusieurs consuls du Puy.
