Léese que el apellido B. es oriundo de Milán; que sus caballeros pasaron a España para pelear contra los moros, sirviendo al rey don Jaime I "el Conquistador"; que en Italia se apellidaban Boneli y Bonelli, y que en España crearon varias ramas con el apellido B. No es cosa comprobada, sin embargo, ese origen italiano del linaje que nos ocupa, y por ello hemos de circunscribirnos a las noticias que de los B. españoles se tienen. Radicaron éstos, principalmente, en Navarra y Aragón, de donde pasaron a Cataluña, Castilla la Vieja y Andalucía.
