Son originarios de Francia, de donde pasaron a Cataluña y Aragón, haciendo asiento en las montañas de Jaca. También pasaron a Valencia y Mallorca. Nicolás B., con una galera suya, acompañó a Jaime I "el Conquistador" en la toma de la isla de Mallorca. Dicho monarca le premió sus servicios asignándole varias heredades en el repartimiento.
