Ancient and noble Portuguese family, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has spread, during the centuries, all over the world, especially in Brazil. According to what has been handed down, the founder of the family is a Rodrigo Anes, Portuguese knight of Santarém, who made famous in France serving King Philip Augustus II, who sent him to defend the city of Bourges.
