Sehr alte Familie, die ihren Namen von der Stadt und der Burg von Borghetto erhielt, wo sie lange Zeit ausgedehnte Güter besaß. Antonio, der Vater von Bardilone, war der Vorfahr, der Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts geboren wurde. Er hatte alte Fischereirechte auf dem Mincio, um Wasser für die Bewässerung zu gewinnen und dort Mühlen zu halten. 1427 wurde es dem edlen Heimatrat zusammengefasst und 1534 von Herzog Ercole II d'Este die Staatsbürgerschaft von Ferrara verliehen. Anderer Zweig. 1737 dem Adel von Cesena zugeschrieben. Fra Francesco Cappuccino, Bischof von Catania, starb 1693. 1798 ausgestorben in der Person eines Filippo, der keine Kinder hatte und Bartolomeo Conti di Bertinoro als Erben seiner Substanzen verließ. Eine andere Familie hob ihre Waffen. D'azzurro, zum silbernen Turmschloss, offen und mit Feldfenstern, an der Spitze von einem Kometen desselben begleitet
