Este apellido tuvo solar en el lugar de la Fuliola, del partido judicial de Balaguer (Lérida). Paso a Mallorca en tiempos de la conquista, y sus individuos fueron heredados en el valle de Oriente. En 1314 era jurado de Palma, Juan B. En 1343 fue designado Guillermo B. por la villa de Artá para prestar juramento y homenaje al rey don Pedro IV de Aragón, conquistador de la isla. Otros varones mallorquines de este apellido florecieron en las armas, la religión y las letras. También pasó este apellido al reino de Valencia, estableciéndose una de sus ramas en la villa de Benicarló, del partido judicial de Vinaroz (Castellón), y otra en la ciudad de Alcira (Valencia). De la casa de Benicarló fue Antonio B., natural de Benicarló, que contrajo matrimonio con doña Petronila Sevil, natural de Tortosa, naciendo de esta unión Antonio B.
